New Testament in 40 days

The “New Testament in 40 Days” reading program, by LifeWay, is to motivate Christ’s followers to read the Word of God. Join believers from different nations as we read the New Testament together. Jesus in John 10:27 said, “My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.” (CSB) To hear His voice, as His sheep, and follow Him is our privilege and responsibility. The sheep, from different nations, tribes and tongues, joining together to listen to their Shepherd’s voice will be so beautiful. The task isn’t too hard. An hour a day in His presence will enable us to complete the reading of the New Testament, dwell on His Word and communicate with Him in prayer.

FAQ's

Our desire is to help believers inculcate the discipline of spending an hour, at least, on an everyday basis to spend time in God’s presence. Additionally, a reading of this nature will keep us alive and aware to God’s message to us, His Church, and to the world. Our sincere desire is that through this exercise every believer will be connected to God’s Word and, in the new year ahead, will be committed in knowing our Lord’s voice better.

LifeWay Equip has put together a suggested day-wise reading plan to help you. However, you do not have to adhere to that plan. You can have your own plan.

Not at all. LifeWay deeply desires that people from every language church will sign up for this program.

Not at all. However, it will be a huge encouragement when we know that we are joining our brothers and sisters from different nations in reading God’s Word, meditating on it and spending time in prayer. We intend displaying the nations that are joining in reading God’s Word.

No, this is open to churches across the world. It will be wonderful to see the Church across nations reading God’s Word together.

Yes, it is.  Seven chapters a day is not a difficult task. The advantage is that we will all inculcate the habit of spending time in God’s presence.

Do try not to miss a day. However, even if you do, you can make it up the next day. Don’t allow it to be more than one day, since you will find it difficult to complete the reading if it is more than that. Also remember, it is always good to think of yourself as a part of the whole Church – the thought of reading together is the most important part.
